A 'Raft' of Opportunities

Following great success in the Caledonian Challenge back in June, a couple of the "Spring into Action" team members decided to ditch the hiking boots and donned wet suits for their next event.

After taking on a few new recruits from Springfords, they took part in a spot of white water rafting on the river Tummel in Perthshire. This event is organised annually by Seafarers UK, a organisation that awards grants to maritime charities. They work tirelessly to improve the quality of life within the UK maritime community, focusing on older seafarers and their families, dependent families and children in need, as well as seafarers of working age, and maritime youth groups.

The weather was glorious, the scenery amazing and although the water was very very cold, a great time was had by all. 

This was a fun and exciting event to take part in with the added bonus of raising in excess of £500 on behalf of the charity.
